01 May Estonian Percussion Group in MOMU
12.07.2025 19:00 - MOMU Mootorispordi Muuseum, Turba
The atrium of the Ellamaa Power Plant feels like it was made to be a concert venue, both in spirit and atmosphere. As a warm summer evening begins, the Estonian Percussion Group sets up in front of the power plant’s large windows. The group consists of four outstanding Estonian percussionists: Karl Johann Lattikas, Lauri Metsvahi, Tiit Joamets, and Tanel-Eiko Novikov. Their wide-ranging percussion music inspires EPG’s diverse repertoire. At their concerts, you may hear everything from the golden classics of percussion music to masterpieces spanning from baroque to rock.
The concert captivates audiences not only through sound but also visually, as the variety of instruments is extensive, and the setup of each piece can be different.
The ensemble has also set a goal to enrich the percussion repertoire themselves. To that end, they collaborate with Estonian composers and commission new works. Over the years, fresh compositions have been written for the ensemble by Pärt Uusberg, Alisson Kruusmaa, Robert Jürjendal, Kristjan Randalu, Siim Aimla, Riho Esko Maimets, Madli Marje Gildemann and Evelin Seppar. Additionally, the members of the ensemble sometimes take on roles as arrangers and composers themselves. Since they are also interested in jazz and rock music, gems and hits from those genres are performed when possible.
This evening at MOMU will offer something for the eyes, ears, and soul!
Tickets are available from Piletikeskus and one hour before the start at the concert venue.
